Wootag, not Wu-Tang. Surely we’re not the first to make that joke, but that doesn’t stop us from saying it.

Singapore-based, interactive video platform Wootag took home the prize of a mentorship with a member of the IAB Council. On August 30 the IAB Singapore held its second-ever Tech Tuesday event. Every second month, the IAB SG holds an event that gives startups the chance to pitch and connect with Singapore’s most influential tech community. The event was hosted by Miranda Dimopoulos, CEO of the IAB SG and planned by the IAB SG Programmatic Committee Members. Attending Members included:

Liam Lucas, Rubicon Project; James Sampson, DataXu; Evgeny Popov, Lotame Benjamin Yeow, Starcom; Gavin Buxton, S4M; Nigel Kwan, Amobee; Jason Barnes, Pubmatic; Gregory Pichot, AppNexus; Shahrul Fahmy, The TradeDesk; Tai Morshed, Tubemogul.

Video is everywhere right now and it’s a race to find the best way to use it to truly engage users. Chief Commercial Officer of Wootag, Andrew Spalding, wowed the attendees by showing them a demo of how their platform can reach video audiences further. The beauty of the platform is that it allows users to buy directly from within the video, allowing brands to measure results easily and in real time.

Other startup speakers included Prerna Pant, the GM for Circus Social, a social data analytics company specialising in social analytic platforms; David Sanderson, the CEO of Nugit an automated data analytics platform; and Dr Wen Ting Sun, Spring-backed CEO of Optimate, a marketing AI platform.

Our upcoming video series IAB Training Series #9: A guide to the video multiverse will have more information on how brands can grasp the power of video.

Look out for our next Tech Tuesday event on our IAB Twitter or Facebook page.
